Bonneville High School Counselors
Bonneville High School counselors are committed to helping students learn. Through individual counseling, classroom presentations, and work with special groups, counselors help facilitate the development of appropriate social skills, encourage career exploration and emphasize academic excellence. Counselors are anxious to meet with teachers and parents as needed in order to maximize the student's potential for success. Counselors also provide information regarding high school course selection, post-secondary training options, financial aid and scholarships, and career choice.

Jared Smith has over 18 years of experience working with the youth in Idaho Falls. Specializing in at-risk interventions he worked as a school counselor and the Safe and Drug Free Schools Coordinator in the Idaho Falls School District before joining the team at Bonneville High. Chanin Thompson is a National Board Certified Counselor. She was born and raised in Idaho Falls and graduated from Skyline High School. She received her Bachelor's of Arts degree from Idaho State University and taught English and History for several years. Mrs. Thompson also earned her Master's in Counseling and an Ed Specialist in Counseling at Idaho State. She is the coordinator of SAT, ACT, AP, and PSAT/NMSQT testing. Devyn Hinson is a Licensed Master Social Worker. She was born in Beaumont, Texas and has lived in Idaho for 5 years. She lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for a year and half. She has experience in the school district as a support professional, community as a case manager, family court, and acute impatient psych hospital. She received her Bachelor's of Social Work from Brigham Young University-Idaho. She received her Master's of Social Work from Northwest Nazarene University in Nampa.
